VS VS VS!

So to celebrate the opening of Victoria Secret in Bristol (and the loosing of the money from my pink patent purse) I decided to do a blog post about my recent purchase*drum roll please* the gorgeous grey jacket of dreamsss. This is not just any sports jacket from the range Pink, oh no, this is a short at the front and long at the back, leather rimmed, vertical zipped, fluffy lined and HEAVENLY jacket (Have I sold that to you enough?) As soon as I look at it I just think OH MY GOD! Just like that. Now there was a range of colours, white with black stripes, black with white stripes, dark grey, lilac and pink but I wanted something suitable, yes, I just wanted to be a basic *****. However, with a price tag of £57 I don't think I was being very basic at all.
The new store is Fabulous (it had to be a capital f).Bigger and wider than I could have possibly imagined. It is genuinely like the Angels catwalk has been brought to England. With videos playing of the Angels themselves inside the shop, making you all the more excited, it is the perfect place to spend that bit of hard earnt cash. Lights, action, pink, stripes, plush, black, white, sparkles, toy dogs and changing rooms that look like the boudoirs in Moulin Rouge this place is truly rewarding on the eyes.
Check it out before you regret keeping your heart on a leash away from the happiness it could be feeling.

*New bag special*

So today I had the privilege of visiting the picturesque town of Tetbury... Little did I know what was waiting for me. After meeting my lovely friend, she told me that I must venture across the road to a gorgeous handbag shop, well I was not going to object too this! But this was not just any handbag shop, oh no, this was the handbag shop of dreams! No matter how picky, no matter how particular, no matter if you are an undecisive shopper, there is something for you inside this shop of wonders. I can honestly say that it is like entering into the mind of a genius and at that a fashion genius (even better!)  From the moment you enter, an array of colours runs past your eyes as you try to take in everything that is on offer. I wish I could tell you about the feeling of excitement but it really would not be enough. I knew that I was not going to leave empty handed. To make matters even better, the shop owner was one of the kindest and interesting people I have ever met in the retail business, only trouble is that makes you want to buy more and more because this man is purely a mastermind when it comes to stocking perfect accessories! He has made sure to tailor all needs, every person will find something that they love, I can guarantee it! If this wasn't enough, the prices are outstanding! I know it sounds like I am being paid to be this positive but trust me...I'm not. I was expecting these bags to cost so so much more than they do because of the style and quality but they are completely reasonable and for what you get, they are even a bargain!
Now dear readers, I am sure you are waiting for the moment where I tell you about my special purchase. From the moment I set eyes on the glorious thing, I knew I had to have it! To be utterly truthful I have not stopped looking at it since I returned home. This patent beauty screams classy and fabulous all in one. The little black bag has really made a comeback in this gorgeous piece of artwork. It is the perfect shape and style, adding a modern tweak to the vintage look (Hence why I loved it so much). Paired with beautiful gold handles and zip, this really was the bag that could hold the reflections of 1000 happy women. To make my decision even hard, this LBB came in a variety of colours each were flawless, turquoise, fuchsia pink, burgundy and electric blue, all my favs! Yes my friends, I do want the bag in every colour possible but I am trying to be good!
I can now reveal the name of this shop of handbag lust is 'Kano Fashion' and if you are looking to find your love at first sight either online or in person then check them out and you can even let me know what you think for yourselves! Enjoy...

Knee high boots.

I think we fashionistas can all agree that knee high boots have been the biggest trend of the season for 2015. I honestly wish that knee highs could be worn all year round (well they possibly could with our less than tropical summer weather) but they are just perfect for these Autumn months. Even though fashion tends to not be about practicality...here's a few practical reasons why knee high boots are great for AW/WI:
  1. If you are wearing tights they still keep your legs nice and warm so you A) don't have to walk like a penguin and B) you can walk without your legs chattering together which I believe is not only difficult but highly unattractive for people like myself who have a slight case of the thunder thigh.
  2. Runner up in the biggest Autumn/ Winter trend, knee high socks, can leave small areas between the knee and thigh freezing and also fairly revealing but with these fabulous boots, slightly more is covered up and my opinion is that it adds an element of class and sophistication.
Ok, ok enough with the 'motherly' reasons why knee highs are better than ankle boots. I know fashion in the Winter can make you a slightly larger version of an ice cube but still we cant help but love those cute and rather snuggly accessories. Now for my second list:
  1. I need to add my favourite outfit that includes knee high boots. Ok so step one, knee high boots in any shade, black, grey, tan or any material, leather or suede paired with some knee high socks, either in a matching or contrasting colour and a sweet doll dress that falls halfway down the thigh, now that is eye-catching!
  2. You know those guilty pleasures, you know the ones I'm on about, fluffy socks?! Even though I am not an admirer of the rolled over the adidas trainer look, I am a fan of wearing these gift from the Gods under knee high boots! (And no one will even know they are secretly £2.50 from Primark). Can we just picture this a minute, sitting in your office at your work desk, in fluffy socks that yeah, you could have worn to bed and not a single soul knowing, now that is a Winter recipe I do enjoy!
  3. Another point about these beauties is the fact they can literally be worn to formal or informal occasions or even to somewhere bang in the middle! Even if you are wearing jeans and a tee, knee highs can make your comfies turn from a 5 to a solid 10! Ready for a good shopping spree and if you want to head out for cocktails after you wont even look undressed, killing two birds in one stone as they say...
Seeing as this is a fashion blog, I should mention that so many designers are using knee high boots in their runaway shows. I have seen multiple models in these gorgeous shoes and they have been used in every way possible, with a short mini dress or skirt to leather trousers or a pair of your favourite denims, these boots will compliment any item of clothing that you decide to put on! If I haven't convinced you enough already (even though that's not what I'm trying to do) then why not have a sneaky look at New Looks website as they are extremely prominent in the high street market for this style of shoes.
Happy searching!

Designers take transforming 'rubbish' to a whole new level.

In commemoration of flashback Friday I thought I would share with you an article I wrote for the 'Fix Up Sharp' Clic Sargent blog about a Bristol based designer who makes amazing accessories out or recycled rubbish! Here we go lovelies:

The true definition of ‘upcycling’ is to reuse discarded objects or material in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original… but I view it as so much more than that! The environment holds many natural benefits for everyone who chooses to accept them, but especially for people who have incredible ideas about how to use the wonders of the universe. If people do not already know becoming a designer is VERY expensive. After buying all the luxurious materials such as silk, felt or cotton it can end up costing hundreds, but why not just go to your local scrap yard instead? Many people do not realise what great objects you can find from the natural environment, it really is God’s gift! By paying a small price and giving a lot of love you too can make amazing accessories from pieces of unwanted scrap.

Katcha Bilek is a Bristol based designer who is known for her initiative and imagination. The main materials which she uses to create her incredible designs are ones which she has found in landfills. Rubber, car seatbelts, inner tubes, bike tyres and rubber mats are just a few of the parts which Bilek uses for her amazing creations. Many of the accessories which she has crafted have included waterproof wallets, handbags and manbags, collars and purses, all durable and all lasting much longer than anything brought on the high street. Katcha’s accessories show a combination of functionality and style, all of them have a clean design and are strong enough to carry heavy loads which is always necessary. The real thing which Kathcha has noticed about her environment is the beautiful materials that you can find within it. She takes care to make her products seem like they have not been made from something which she has saved from a landfill. She makes sure that all of her designs are sustainable, lasting for the future, which is a key detail for upcycled items. Every single one of her designs have been made to be unique, they have been magically handcrafted by Bilek’s skilled hands. For up-coming eco fashion designers there are a number of different materials which you could decide to use for your designs such as wood, netting or aluminium cans. However, Bilek chooses to use wheel barrow rubber and lorry and tractor inner tubes which have been discarded. This really makes her work stand out. Katcha is a prime example of how far eco fashion has really come, she now has a global brand of upcycled products which are locally sourced.

You too can begin to create accessories from anything, as long as it is original and helps the environment. Many eco designers put so much effort into their crafts because they choose what they want to make them from, they know where the material have been sourced and they search for the most creative products to use. Everything eco is the future and fashion remains in the hands of the scrapyards!

A quote from Katcha Bilek to finish off- “I became so aware of the abandoned materials that were around me and it struck me that, with some imagination, they could be reconstructed into something beautiful and useful.”

Autumn colours.

I absolutely am loving the autumn colours that are about this year and I am guessing that many people are with me (including a certain Jenner sister). Burnt orange, burgandy and khaki are very hot this season and I am super glad about this! Last night I happened to come across Miss Kylie Jenner in a burnt orange dress standing next to her extremely tall and beautiful sister Kendall. Burnt orange is literally one of my favourite colours at the moment and when I found that it was a hit this Autumn then I was on it! Last year I brought a gorgeous burnt orange pvc skirt from Primark for like £4 yes £4 (I had my eye on it till it went on sale) and I will 100% be wacking that bad boy out today! I think that burnt orange goes amazingly well with nuede or beige in the form of knee high boots or a soft cashmere turtle neck (or just a cotton one which I have but anyways!) Along with this burgandy, like most Autumns, is back...in....business. I feel like I mention Primark far too often but I promise that it is not the only place I shop, however I did pick up a lovely little dolly dress for £6 in this beautiful autumny colour yasss! God I love a bargain. Khaki was also a winner this autumn and j have already seen tons of online shops selling lovely bodycon midi dresses which are on point! I just love the colours at the moment even the leaves are following the trend! Just goes to show nature really is a beauty.

Bristol fashion week!

The time has come again...Fashion show season! Yes yes of course I attended Bristol fashion week for the Autumn/Winter catwalk and all I can say is that it was perfect. From scenes of Vogue to magical waterfalls, black veil brides and a trip to the desert, we embrace on a fashion journey to the comfy season of fall. What really stood out to me I hear you ask? Well all I can say is KM, Karen Millan! If we can just refer back to my gorgeous vintage cream Karen Millian dress for a moment here *sigh* ok moment over, but Karen Millan's clothing edition was wonderous. Of course monochrome is still in and Millan showed this off beautifully with triangular cuts of black and white in a skirt and top two-piece...lovely. Monochrome will never leave this earth and I am very happy about that because it is so elegant and classy, the perfect look for a catwalk. Nearing towards the more affordable fashion pieces, fur is still really in. Fur gilets have always pulled off any outfit, paired with a white top and black jeans or a shirt and black skirt, fur gilets make any look more formal and ready to hit the streets. Hobbs did a fantastic and utterly fabulous fur coat which would make cruella deuville fall to her knees. Another cheeky addition was suede and to be more specific camel color suede. This sandy cowboy look actually is very appealing and can be paired with anything. Typical its the suede skirt which has hit high street stores in the same shape as the uber popular denim skirt over the summer. I got the pleasure of seeing some outfits from John Lewis which followed this trend in a very successful manner. This colour seude will literally go with anything but I very much agree with the catwalk that knee high boots and a floaty white shirt top it off to a tee. As you know I absolutely adore going to fashion shows, in fact it is probably my favourite thing to do and I can safely say its been a while since I've not attended a Bristol fashion week show. One day ONE DAY I will reach you New York fashion week but until then enjoy Modo-Vitale my homies!
