Vintage shopping...

To celebrate the purchase that I happened to make in a French vintage store named 'Ma Petite Robe' (extremely fitting) I decided to make a post about the joys of vintage shopping. I find it so much more rewarding than high street shopping and this is why...
1. When you actually find something you like you have most likely burnt off about 200 calories rummaging through the moth bitten clothes that still have the smell of a 1940's Narnia wardrobe.
2. Knowing that these clothes may have belonged to a 1920's pin up girl or model and now have ended up on your body brings a sense of utter pleasure.
3. After trying on multiple dresses that just do not fit properly (mainly because of the gigantic shoulder pads) and then finding THE ONE I am sure will bring you the same amount of satisfaction as running a marathon.
I don't know about anyone else but finding something in a vintage store just makes me proud of the history that has been conveyed around us and fashion has evolved so much and shaped society in every century possible that having items fit for wear in the 21st century is pretty amazing. Now for the moment you have been waiting for... My proud moment was finding a Karen Millan creme dress which was just €10 (no you did not read that wrong) and if it belonged to a French film star then that's an even bigger bonus.
